100km Indoor Rowing World Record

On Saturday 6th May 2017, I joined the Sub 7 indoor rowing team, to set a new World record for the fastest team to row 100km. Rowing 20 strokes at maximum effort, followed by 4.5 minutes rest for 5.5 hours non-stop seemed doable, but it turned out it was tougher than it sounds. We rowed 100km in 5:36:30.5 and now have confirmation from Concept2 that we are … Continue reading 100km Indoor Rowing World Record

A few bits of technology whizzed their voices and music across to 40,000 people in Essex. Incredible! I’d have imagined several vans parked outside with massive satellites attached to the roof but no, apparently all they needed was decent wifi. Check out my interview here: Continue reading Phoenix FM Interview before the Great British Row

Radio Interview with BBC Essex

21/03/17That was exciting!  I just got interviewed on The Ronnie Barbour Show on BBC Essex Radio. After getting to grips with doing interviews on the Tough Girl podcast, I didn’t feel as nervous as I usually do and arrived all prepared with cue cards in case I got tongue tied. It turns out Ronnie didn’t even ask much about my rowing challenge. He had been delving into … Continue reading Radio Interview with BBC Essex

30 Day Cold Shower Challenge

March 2016 ChallengeAfter the success of my February Challenge, The #SugarFreeFeb gang and I decided to continue with another monthly challenge: The 30 Day Cold Shower Challenge! I’d already started this challenge mid-late February after listening to Scott Carney’s What Doesn’t Kill Us audiobook. In the first few chapters of the audiobook above, Scott explains the Wim Hof Method and the benefits of cold water training.  This was enough … Continue reading 30 Day Cold Shower Challenge
